Marathon
We're running the London Marathon in 2021
UPDATE: Due to the old global pandemic, plus a bit of a dodgy knee, we have deferred our marathon entry until April 2021. We are still training hard and would love your support and sponsorship. WE CAN DO THIS!
Our Marathon Story:
Over the last seven years as the Scummy Mummies, we have achieved some big things. We've performed our live comedy show to tens of thousands of people across the UK. We've recorded hundreds of episodes of our hit podcast. We've written a book (still in print.) But now we're facing our biggest challenge yet: running the London Marathon 2021! Oh ****.
We have each picked a charity close to our hearts to raise money for, and we are dividing the funds equally between them. If you've ever listened to one of our podcasts, been to one of our shows, or laughed at one of our daft posts, we would love it if you could show your support by giving to our charities. It would mean the world to us. And you'll feel like a great humanitarian all day, promise.
Ellie is running for Borne, an amazing charity that funds life-saving research to prevent premature birth. Every year, 15 million babies are born prematurely around the world. In 2014 that included Ellie's son Joe, who arrived nine weeks early. He is now a healthy and happy little boy, but over 1 million premature babies die each year. Borne is committed to finding a cure for preterm labour, to make pregnancy safer, and to give each baby a chance of a full life. Because a child's first day should not be their hardest, or their last.
Helen is running for the brilliant Women's Aid, a charity that supports women and children escaping domestic abuse. Women's Aid provides vital help to makes sure victims reach safety, freedom and independence. It is utterly heartbreaking to know that three women are killed by their partner or ex-partner every fortnight in England and Wales and one in seven children and young people have lived with domestic abuse in their childhood. It is important to Helen to support an organisation that strives to end the suffering of women and children in the UK.
We would be so grateful for any donations, no matter how big or small. This is the hugest thing we have ever done and we hope that knowing how much money is our charities are getting will keep us going. Please help us across that finish line. Click here to sponsor us NOW!
Thank you!
Lots of love,
Ellie and Helen xxx
PS No, we are not running in our gold catsuits.
PPS But we haven't ruled out the option of pantomime donkey.
